Helping You Find Your True North
I’m Vanessa Leon-Gonzalez, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma therapist offering virtual therapy for individuals and couples in Florida, Vermont, and Idaho.
If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance something in your life or relationship is asking for deeper attention, healing, or change. You may be carrying old wounds, feeling stuck in a painful pattern, or simply sensing that there is more underneath what keeps happening.
My work is about helping you slow down enough to understand what’s really going on — and to move toward something more honest, connected, and whole.
How I Work
I offer a grounded, compassionate, and depth-oriented approach to therapy. My style is warm, relational, and gently direct. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can tell the truth, make sense of your inner world, and begin to shift patterns that no longer serve you.
I specialize in trauma therapy and work with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, relationship pain, attachment wounds, life transitions, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences, whether from childhood, relationships, or single traumatic events.
My approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and other trauma-informed methods in a way that honors your pace, your nervous system, and your unique story. I believe healing happens not through force or fixing, but through deeper understanding, compassion, and connection.
Why This Work Matters to Me
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my own healing journey.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) was life-changing for me. It helped me connect with the different parts of myself with more compassion and care, and in that process, I began to release old trauma and reconnect with a steadier, more authentic sense of who I am.
That experience gave me something I now think of as True North — a clear, grounded inner direction rooted in authenticity, self-compassion, and trust.
That’s the heart of the work I offer today.
I know what it’s like to feel disconnected from yourself, and I also know what becomes possible when healing begins to create more clarity, steadiness, and freedom from the inside out.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
Clients often come to me when something feels stuck, activated, unresolved, or just out of reach.
Together, we slow things down enough to understand what’s happening beneath the surface — not just intellectually, but emotionally and relationally. We make space for the parts of you that are hurting, protecting, adapting, or longing to be seen.
I bring calm, curiosity, and care into the room, along with a deep respect for how hard you’ve worked to survive what you’ve been through. My hope is that therapy feels like a place where you do not have to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or carry things alone.
Whether we’re working with trauma, patterns in relationships, or parts of you that feel conflicted or overwhelmed, I want our work to feel meaningful, steady, and deeply human.
A Little More Personally
Outside the therapy room, I feel most like myself when I’m in nature, making art, writing, or enjoying simple moments with the people and animals I love.
These parts of my life keep me grounded and connected to the same creativity, tenderness, and presence I bring into my work.
My Hope for You
I see therapy as a journey, one where I walk alongside you as you reconnect with the steady, wise core that has always been within you.
It’s an honor to hold space for that process and to help you find your way back to your own True North.
